Percentage of adults living with obesity in Richmond borough in 2023 / 2024 decreases from previous year

Figures, published by the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities, reveal the proportion of adults in England estimated to be living with obesity in 2023/24, broken down by local authority area.
The figures were found using data from the Sport England Active Lives Adult Survey.
And they found that the proportion of adults estimated to be living with obesity in Richmond Upon Thames in 2023 / 2024 has decreased from 2022 / 2023, but has a higher percentage than that in 2018 / 2019.
According to the figures, Richmond's percentages have decreased from 20.5 per cent in 2022 / 2023 to 14. 7 per cent in 2023 / 2024 but was at 12.5 per cent in 2018 / 2019.
However, next door Kingston presents a 0.3 per cent increase in percentage numbers in the years 2022 / 2023 and 2023 / 2024, going from 15.5 per cent to 15.8 per cent.
Richmond has a lower percentage than many other local authorities like Bolton or Slough whose percentages are in the 30s.
