A Chinese restaurant in Teddington is on sale after its owner decided to retire.

Patrick Tsang, who runs HoMe with wife Helen, has been serving locals along Church Road for seven years.

However, the couple has decided to sell the business so they can retire.

"I've been in catering all my life," says Mr Tsang, reminiscing on his career of over 50 years.

"We only intended to stay [at HoMe] for four years, but the customers were so nice that we signed on for another year, and another, and so on," he said.

The restaurant has proved a hit with locals, with Mr Tsang explaining how weekends are booked solid three or four weeks in advance.

Mr and Mrs Tsang run the business alone, and have had to stop their takeaway service to focus on the often-packed 25-seat restaurant.

Their secret? Despite his personal experience, Mr Tsang puts it down to wife Helen, saying: "she is a wonderful chef".

He also thinks the restaurant's small size and low business rates compared to locations along the nearby Teddington high street have helped keep HoMe packed week after week.

"I'll miss our customers… the good ones at least!" joked the owner.

HoMe is on the market for £120,000 from RAF Estates with a 13-year lease, available here.
