COVID restrictions are still set to be relaxed over the festive period.
This is despite calls from Labour and other parties to rethink the relaxation.
The rethink was requested due to the rising number of coronavirus cases across the country.
While Prime Minister Boris Johnson has advised families to have as short a Christmas as possible here is officially what you can do:
- You can form a bubble with two other households between December 23rd and 27th.
- However these must be the same two households for this entire period.
- You can go with your bubble to an outside space, private home or place of worship.
- If you are travelling to a part of the country where hospitality is open you cannot visit these places with your Christmas bubble.
If you have family outside England things get even more complicated:
- Legally only two households can meet in Wales between 23rd and 27th of December.
- In Scotland the three households cannot total more than 8 people and you are asked to only meet for one day.
- In Northern Ireland the restrictions are the same as England but extend between 22nd and 28th of December.
Hopefully you can now have a merry and safe Christmas!
