Hampton's new wildlife site is set to open on Tuesday, 14 July, and to celebrate, the council is hosting a free event from 2pm - 4pm.

The event will feature family-friendly activities, a talk about the history and creation of Oldfield Meadow wildlife site, and an opportunity to learn about proposed future ideas.

It will take place at the junction of Old Path on Upper Sunbury Road.

Last year, Habitats & Heritage invited residents to help plan features of the site, including a micro-forest and a wild biodiversity zone.

The new nature conservation area will now open to the public, encouraging residents to connect with nature, support local biodiversity and enjoy a new green space in the heart of Hampton.
