New online neighbourhood watch to launch in Teddington

A new online neighbourhood watch scheme is to be launched in Teddington.
It is intended to act as a compliment to the existing scheme and help those already in the Neighbourhood Watch.
The Online Watch Link (OWL) has been set up by Richmond Police.
It is a community messaging tool and is designed to get information to residents more quickly and effectively.
The uses of this new service include:
- Messages can be directed to a particular street or postcode.
- A message about an important incident or event can be instantly posted by the Police and/or the Council.
- Only factual information is included – no comments can be posted. And no trivia!
- Data is provided by email with appropriate attachments.
- The facility to link CCTVs in an area will become possible – so vital evidence is coordinated, and Police and Council are aware of where
- Useful local information is also on the website.
- An administrator works for the Council to regularly maintain the records of membership so records and changes are managed.
