A NEW Japanese restaurant is set to open on Teddington's food-rich High Street, adding a distinctive flavour to the bounty of eateries in the town centre.

The restaurant called Obon – which is an annual Buddhist event to honour ancestors – is on the site of the former upmarket café French Tarte, positioned between Chase Buchanan estate agents and The Good Wine Shop.

Obon will be the thirteenth restaurant at the High Street end of Teddington's town centre and is planning to open on March 18th with room for 24 tables.

A spokesperson for Obon told Nub News: "Teddington is such a vibrant area with a wide range of restaurant options and we think there is a good opportunity for a first class Japanese restaurant like Obon."

The restaurant will also be recruiting waiting staff and a kitchen porter. If you are interested you can email your CV to [email protected]
