More celebrities mourn loss of Park Lane Stables from Teddington home

More celebrities have expressed their sadness at the news that beloved local charity Park Lane Stables had to leave their Teddington home on Monday (31 May) after negotiations with the landowner failed.

Comedian and impressionist Rory Bremner and bestselling author Jojo Moyes expressed their dismay at last week's shock news that despite raising over £1.3 million in a phenomenal fundraising campaign earlier this year no agreement could be reached with the landlord.

Speaking to the Evening Standard's Londoner's Diary which was published this morning (June 2), Bremner told the Standard the news was "such a disappointment" after the charity had raised £1.3 million to stay at the site on Park Lane.

"It's almost the equivalent of cutting down a bit of rainforest. This is a bit of magic that helps people's lives," he said.

Jojo Moyes, author of smash-hit romance novel Me Before You, was also quoted in the piece.

Speaking about the impact of the news, she said: "we lose another little corner of what makes London so special."

Last week, local resident and comedian and actor Rob Brydon expressed his views on the news.

Brydon, who raised the profile of the fundraising campaign after an appearance on Good Morning Britain , said: "Shocked to hear this news, surely this can't happen?"
