Man fined over £1000 after dog caused deer to injure child in Bushy Park

A man has been fined over £1000 after his dog chased a herd of deer in Bushy Park.
The stampeding deer then caused a child to injure his rib after they collided.
The child was enjoying a cycle in the park when the incident took place.
Royal Parks Police said: "Finn Schioldan, 52, from Weybridge, has pleaded guilty at Wimbledon Magistrates Court to a park regulation offence.
"On 17/01/21 his Rhodesian Ridgeback dog chased a herd of deer in #BushyPark, resulting in one of the deer colliding with a child on a bike, causing a fractured rib."
Mr Schioldan was handed a fine of £865 and was ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £80.
Passing sentence, magistrate Richard Jefferson told the defendant: "Please be very careful, these deer are not little Bambies. They are tough, they live outside, they are tough."
