Planned Tube strikes by RMT members are expected to cause disruption afor London commuters next week.

The strikes, which are set to take place from Tuesday, 19 May to Friday, 22 May, are part of six 24-hour walkouts taking place between April and June, with the first strike days taking place last month.

Further strikes are planned for 16 – 17 June and 18 – 19 June.

TfL (Transport for London) previously warned that the action will affect the entire Tube network, with severe disruption expected from midday on strike days and into the following mornings.

However, some reduced services are expected to run on most lines.

The dispute centres on plans for a proposed four-day working week for Tube drivers.

The RMT has raised concerns about longer shifts, fatigue and safety, while TfL says the proposal would be voluntary and could initially be trialled on a single line.

TfL says that buses, the Elizabeth line, DLR, London Overground, and Trams will be running as normal but "are expected to be busy".

It advises commmuters to plan ahead and allow more time to complete their journey.

Ahead of the April strikes, TfL urged RMT to call off its action, but the strikes will go ahead.
