The London Fire Brigade (LFB) attended a fire in a dead tree trunk in Bushy Park on Saturday afternoon (11 April).
Two fire engines attended the scene.
In a post on Nextdoor on Saturday, eyewitiness Mitra Smith said: ""I saw it from my flat and ran to see if anybody had reported. A gentleman had already reported!
"It was amazing, many runners & cyclists passed the smoke but did not act! Flames were very frightening from my window! No smoke anymore but a fire engine is still there!"
A Royal Parks spokesperson told Nub News: "We can confirm that there was a fire in Bushy Park on Saturday afternoon, which was promptly attended to and managed by LFB."
An LFB spokesperson added: "We were called at 1711 hrs on 11 April to reports of a fire involving a fallen tree in Bushy Park. Firefighters safely extinguished the fire before leaving the scene shortly after 1900 hrs. Two fire engines from Twickenham and Surbiton fire stations attended."
