The Teddington and the Hamptons Rotary Club is seeking help from locals to raise awareness of the End Polio Now campaign by planting 4,000 crocus bulbs on Hampton Village Green.
In conjunction with Richmond Borough's initiative to create more Pollination Stations across the borough, the club has elected to plant its purple crocuses in this newly designated space this year.
All are welcome to join the club in planting bulbs from 10.30am on Saturday, 24 October that will create a carpet of purple on one side of the green in the spring, highlighting the international ambition of Rotary to finally see the end of this terrible disease.
You can register in advance and find out more by visiting the club's web events page or you can just turn up on the day.
