The Hampton Wick and South Teddington Neighbourhood police team arrested a man for shoplifting yesterday, Monday 31 March.

The man was caught stealing tobacco from the Costcutter on Kingston Road in Teddington.

In response to this, the team said: "Residents and businesses have told us that they want their police to deal firmly and appropriately with shoplifters - it is a ward priority, where necessary we will arrest."

The local police has been contacted for further information.
