Local charity, Ruils, is hosting a Community Organising Training event with Citizens UK in its Teddington office on Waldegrave Road next Wednesday, 19 February.

The event will run from 2.30pm – 5pm.

Community organising is about bringing people together to win change. This means building community-led solutions to big and small problems that work for everyone.

Ruils said: "We know everyday people have the ability to shape the world around them and together, we put the power back into people's hands to hold those responsible to account."

For the event, Ruils is partnering with Citizens UK to deliver training on community organising to help attendees understand how it works and make change happen.

Citizens UK is a grassroots alliance of diverse civil society organisations, including schools, faith groups, charities, and community organisations, working together to build stronger communities and achieve social justice.

Citizens UK's campaigns address issues such as living wages, housing, social care, and refugee resettlement.

At the event, you can expect to learn:

  • what Citizen's UK does
  • how community organising works
  • how to identify shared concerns
  • how to bring people together behind a cause
  • community organising methods and tools

You can book your tickets here.

There will be a free light dinner provided at the event, so Ruils have asked that attendees share any dietary requirements as well as any access requirements when booking their tickets.
