Local artist Jo Ellis has produced the winning design for a Christmas card competition to capture the scene at Teddington Riverside - with a fascinating interpretation of a snowy view of the Thames.

Her work was chosen from a wide selection of entries from artists, many of whom took part in a day of painting or sketching at Teddington Riverside,  the collection of new homes for sale in one of the most serene locations overlooking Teddington Lock and the Thames.

Eugenie Ropner, Head of Sales and Marketing at Teddington Riverside, said: "Our panel of judges were impressed by the freshness and highly individual style of the card by Jo Ellis. It's quirky, fun and perfect for this Christmas, with the early snowfalls this month."

Jo Ellis, who lives locally, has received a £150 John Lewis gift voucher and her artwork features on this year's Teddington Riverside Christmas card, with her name  emblazoned on the back.

Jo was born in Hong Kong and moved to the United Kingdom in 1970.  She studied traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy in Hong Kong and fine art design in London. Her work ranges from abstract expressionistic to quirky townscapes, by using various mediums to create textured surfaces.  She has held solo exhibitions in Seoul, Cairo, Alexandria, Sarajevo, Florida and New York and also exhibited in London . She now  exhibits her work at contemporary art fairs.
