Teddington Skiff Club's beginners' courses to start next month

The Skiff Club is inviting locals to learn how to row in traditional boats from its club in Trowlock Way, Teddington.
Skiffs are stable, making basic skills easy to learn, leading to good exercise and opportunities to race in local events on the Thames under the Skiff Racing Association.
Regular club activities include rowing outings throughout the week and at weekends (often including a pub or cafe stop) in addition to an ongoing coaching and training programme.
The friendly bar is open on Thursdays for well-earned refreshment.
For the more adventurous, the Skiff Club organises expeditions to other waterways in the UK and abroad.
This year's tours include four days on the River Wey, two days to Chertsey and back, skiffing at the Vogalonga festival in Venice and a three-day row upstream for Henley Regatta.
Beginners' courses start on Saturday, 3 May and will run weekly for four lessons.
Each lesson will last 1.5 hours and the whole course costs just £60.
The club also offers trial outings if the full beginners' course does not suit.
It is a great way to enjoy the river, learn a skill, get some exercise and meet new friends.
