Latest on two sunken boats in The Thames at Teddington

By The Editor 5th Nov 2021

As anyone from Teddington will know the river is a huge part of life here.

In particular boats are incredibly popular along this particular stretch of The Thames.

However while most boats stay afloat there are a couple of boats in the area that are sinking quickly.

Firstly the newly sunken vessel opposite Broom Park recreation ground.

Maria Herlihy of the Environment Agency revealed on Twitter that navigation markers have now been put on the boat to warn others.

This is not the only sunken boat pointed out in Teddington recently however.

Steven Wibberley also pointed out another vessel on Twitter that has slowly been sinking for the last month and more worryingly has been leaking oil into the river.

The boat is located near Teddington Lock.

The Environment Agency will look to remove both boats as soon as they can.
