A major route in Richmond Borough is set to be reduced to just one lane either way for 13 weeks.

The A316 in Twickenham will be reduced to a single lane in both directions on Great Chertsey Road between Hospital Bridge Roundabout and Apex Corner while the works take place.

Residents are receiving letters from contractors Cadent Gas and road users have been advised to plan their journeys in advance.

The works start on Monday, January 25 and will last for approximately 13 weeks.

Cadent are replacing and upgrading old large diameter metal gas mains located deep beneath the road.

A section of the footpath on Great Chertsey Road will also be closed for the duration of the works.
