Landmark Arts Centre audience survey reveals 70% of people more likely to stay local for arts events
An audience survey carried out by Teddington's Landmark Arts Centre has revealed interesting insights into how people feel about the return to live events when government restrictions are lifted post pandemic.
The Landmark's survey received a total of 288 responses and showed an overwhelmingly positive reaction to returning to future events with nearly 70% saying they were likely, or very likely, to return to the centre.
The survey results will be used to help The Landmark understand audience attitudes towards attending live events and plan the road map for the reopening of the centre.
Edward Kershaw, Landmark Trustee said: "We wanted to understand the concerns and attitudes of people regarding coming back to the centre, even if restrictions are still in place such as social distancing, mask-wearing etc and, what impact the past year, and the underlying concerns about infection, has had on attitudes towards attending concerts in general, local or in central London."
The survey also revealed a very interesting shift in attitudes towards travelling to events in central London, versus staying local with nearly 60% saying they were less likely to travel to London for artistic events, and much more likely to stay local.
Lesley Bossine, Landmark Centre Manager said: "These results bode very well for The Landmark, and we will be looking to create programmed events to meet this demand. We suspect that many people will carry on working from home which might mean there is more scope to programme events during weekday nights too."
