Police investigations are ongoing after a man was arrested for GBH on Friday evening following a fight that erupted at Teddington's riverside pub The Anglers.

A witness at the scene told Nub News that a group of university students were celebrating the end of the academic year, but after a few too many, one individual passed out which led to the fight. Three ambulances were followed by a further three police vans to break up the altercation and treat those injured.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: " Police were called to Broom Road, Hampton at 19:21hrs on Friday to reports of a fight. Police and LAS units attended. One male was arrested for GBH assault.

"The investigation into the circumstances are ongoing. Currently no one is outstanding."

Dispersal zones were implemented by local police last summer and late last year throughout Richmond borough, which included Teddington Lock, to assist officers in breaking up groups of teenagers and students following widespread evidence of violence, including attacks on the police, drunkenness, vandalism and antisocial behaviour.

Disperal zones have been implemented by Richmond Police in the past to help breakup antisocial behaviour from teens and students

It is unclear as of yet whether such measures will be reinstated as term time draws to an end in the coming months and more students flock to Teddington Lock and green spaces across the borough to celebrate the end of the school year.
