Harlequins has today announced the club will celebrate Pride History Month across February 2023 with a dedicated Pride celebration weekend scheduled for March 4-5.

The Pride weekend will see both Harlequins Men's and Women's teams host Exeter Chiefs in the Gallagher Premiership and Allianz Premier 15s at The Twickenham Stoop.

Traditionally taking place during February, which is celebrated each year internationally as Pride History Month, Harlequins have no home fixtures during that month, so will celebrate the annual event at the start of March to celebrate the closing of Pride History Month 2023.

Quins launched the first edition of the Pride-themed fixture in 2020 as the Club hosted professional rugby's first-ever LGBTQ+-themed fixture against London Irish, going on to host second and third Pride fixtures against Newcastle Falcons (2020/21 season) and Wasps (2021/22 season) respectively.

In another first for rugby, Harlequins also founded the sport's first-ever LGBTQ+ supporters group, Quins Pride ahead of the second Pride fixture in 2021, who will act as key consultants for the weekend's activities.

Harlequins Chief Executive Laurie Dalrymple said: "We are delighted to confirm the plans for the Pride weekend as this is incredibly close to our hearts. We believe strongly that rugby is a sport for all and that we can use our visibility in professional sport to raise awareness, educate and drive change.

"This will be our biggest-ever Pride celebration and we know how much our supporters enjoy this, as well as how important it is for our club, our sport and the LGBTQ+ community."

• Saturday, March 4. Harlequins Women vs Exeter Chiefs Women. Round 13 of the Allianz Premier 15s. 14:00 kick-off (tbc).

• Sunday, March 5. Harlequins Men vs Exeter Chiefs. Round 19 of the Gallagher Premiership. 15:00 kick-off.
