The Hampton Wick Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) announced that it secured a conviction at court last week for a man having a "dangerously out of control" dog in a public place in Hampton Wick.

The dog, a Cane Corso, attacked another dog, who had to have an operation but has recovered well, on Seymour Road.

The attacking Dog has been humanly euthanised, and the outcome of the sentencing hearing will be in April.

A spokesperson from the local policing team told Teddington Nub News: "Hampton Wick SNT will thoroughly investigate behaviour by irresponsible dog owners and work hard to bring them to justice as we have in this case.

"This case involved some thorough investigation by SNT officers, and I am pleased to say we were supported by the local community who helped us to identify the persons responsible.

"Please keep things in perspective and remember incidents like these are very rare."

They added: "We will always investigate these crimes and do our best to bring offenders to justice."
