Green light to change Teddington's WHSmith signs amid national rebrand

Council planners have given the green light for Teddington's WHSmith signs to be replaced as part of a national rebrand.
Richmond Council has said the new TGJones signs can go up at the Broad Street store.
The move comes after WHSmith announced the £76m sale of its 233-year-old high street businesses to Modella Capital - the firm which owns Hobbycraft – back in March.
The high street stores are now having the WHSmith name removed to be replaced with TGJones.

The proposed works on Broad Street include external works to replace the main shopfront signage.
Signage will be replaced in like for like size, build, and colourways, so will not interfere with the aesthetics or integrity of the building in any way.
Approving the plans, a council report said: "The proposed signage will have much the same impact on amenity as the existing signage.
"The sign is simple with large font and will not be overly distracting to road users and pedestrians."
