A local golf club welcomed three new members of staff this week as part of the Government's Kickstart Scheme.
New recruits Jeremy, Henry and Nathan will be working at Fulwell Golf Club for the next six months as part of the scheme.
While working for the club they will receive training, development and guidance with their CVs to help with future employment.
Fulwell Golf Club Secretary Murray Cook told Nub News : "It's a really good scheme.
"It's something that we really wanted to do to help people in local community, we feel that we had the opportunity to help them.
"It's been really positive, the members have appreciated it as well.
"Hopefully other businesses see this initiative and get involved too."
Fulwell Golf Club has received funding to take on five new staff members in total: two in the green-keeping department, two on front of house, and one in the kitchen.
