London and indeed the whole country this week has been shocked by the death of Sarah Everard.

In journalism reporting on death can be an all too-frequent occurrence.

Here in South West London luckily there are not too many of these kind of stories.

But it is still tragic when someone does lose their life.

In Teddington this week a body was pulled from the lock.

Or in Kingston a couple of weeks ago another body was pulled from the river.

Neither of these deaths were treated as suspicious but it does not take away from the pain I am sure their families were caused.

These deaths are part of the news and people have a right to know - just like Sarah Everard - but reporting on them will never become easy.
