Happy Christmas everyone and I hope that you and your family that you can see are doing well.

It is ultra cliched at this point to talk about the weirdness of 2020 - so let's park that.

Instead I'll talk about some of my highlights of covering Teddington during 2020.

In fact here are the top three in no particular order.

1. The World Cup of Hospitality

I absolutely loved setting this up. Teddington is full of great venues so to feature these - especially in 2020 was a thrill.

It was also great to see the enthusiasm in which the competition was embraced with 16 restaurants and pubs throwing their hats in the ring.

Plus I had a lovely lunch at winners Sidra too!

Already I cannot wait to bring back the competition next summer.

2. The passion behind The Landmark Arts Centre

Back when I started this job I had a passing knowledge of Teddington.

I had heard of the Landmark but I did not know truly how much it meant.

Now I can see that the centre truly is the heart of the town.

So it has been really great to see the passion for the centre and of course the successful campaign to save it at first-hand.

3. Becoming a real journalist

I have wanted to become a journalist for some time.

So when I first started to write for Nub back in April and then being hired full-time in June it was definitely a big moment for me.

I've really enjoyed finding my footing in this industry and am looking forward to keeping that going into 2021.
