Families and staff at Kindred Teddington have been celebrating after its wider nursery chain was recognised in a prestigious national award for its outstanding work with parents.
The nursery is part of the Kindred Nurseries family, which has just won the "Working with Parents" category at the 2025 Nursery World Awards - one of the UK's leading early years accolades.
The award honours Kindred's Awe & Wonder Summer Challenge, a much-loved month-long tradition that inspires families to step outside, spark imaginations, and create magical shared moments together.
The Kindred Awe & Wonder Summer Challenge takes place every August, with families across the community invited to join in 31 simple, free, and inclusive activities - one for each day of the month.
From cloud gazing and potion-making to nature art and scavenger hunts, the activities are designed to be enjoyed by everyone, wherever they are.

Throughout the month, Kindred shares resources, ideas, and top tips to inspire families to get involved.
The challenge is open to all - not just Kindred families - encouraging communities to reconnect with the joy of outdoor play and shared adventures.
Within Kindred nurseries, teams bring the challenge to life through themed days, enrichment sessions, and in-nursery activities that link with the experiences families are enjoying at home and in their local area.
Together, these shared moments help bridge home, nursery, and community life in the most joyful way.
Abby Buckley, Nursery Manager, said: "The Kindred Awe & Wonder Summer Challenge is such a lovely way for families to make memories together.
"Parents tell us they love it because it gives them fun ideas to try at home, while still feeling connected to nursery.
"It truly is a special way to encourage families to get out and spend time together, doing things that don't necessarily cost a lot of money, which is so refreshing nowadays.
"It's also wonderful because there's no age limit, so siblings can join in too. Overall, it's a beautiful way for our community to come together and celebrate the little moments of curiosity and creativity that make the Early Years so special."
L, Kindred Parent and winner of the Awe & Wonder Summer Challenge 2025, added: "We love the Awe & Wonder Challenge and have taken part for the last three years. Our son's favourites were potion making and picking up litter – he runs to do this whenever he sees it now."
"It's so much fun spending time together and teaching our son about the world around us and all the core values represented in the challenge," said B, Kindred Parent and winner of the Awe & Wonder Summer Challenge 2024.
The Nursery World Award judges praised the initiative for creating lasting memories, boosting children's confidence, and bringing families and nurseries closer together.
