Teddington's Parish, St Mary with St Alban, rang its church bell 96 times today at noon and opened its doors from 9am this morning so residents could come and pay their respects to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

Tonight, evening prayer will be held in the church at 5pm, with all welcome to attend.

The local parish said: "Tonight, evening prayer will be held at 5pm in the church, and all are welcome to attend. This gives us all the time to then reach home afterwards to hear the King's first address to the nation, and to hear the service from St Paul's Cathedral.

"Our 8am, 9am and 10am services will be a time to remember, reflect and give thanks for the Queen and to pray for her family."

A book of condolences has also been opened at the parish for locals to come and write their respects.
