If you are with phone network EE you may have noticed that phone calls have been far from straight forward for the last few days.

Problems were first reported last Friday and have persisted ever since.

So what has caused these problems?

Two phone masts near the Park Hotel are believed to be the source of the problem.

Both are currently being fixed in an effort to restore the signal.

Dealing with EE

Local photographer Emma Durnford, an EE customer, told us:

"I received texts and emails alerts from EE and one this morning (received 9.04) states that 'we have a problem near your home which may be affecting service in the area. Everything will be back to normal within 9 hours. We will continue to keep you updated'. As they have said this for a few days I contacted their online Chat.

"In all fairness the individual I contacted on the Chatline did their best to find out what was happening, to arrange refund and raise a complaint.

"I have made a formal complaint and EE have agreed to refund me for the days lost but this is not really the point.

"I simply want a phone that works so that I can continue to work.

"With the current Covid19 situation, many people are working from home now and are reliant on their mobile phones to keep in touch and to enable them to work."

A solution in the short-term is to enable wifi calling on your phone.

This means that if you have no phone signal the call will be done through your home wifi signal instead.

Hopefully this problem will be fixed soon and we can get back to having a full phone service in Teddington.
