Teddington-based charity, Ruils Independent Living, is to temporarily shut its base on Waldegrave Road to allow for building works.

The charity has confirmed that all services will run as normal when work begins on Monday, June 12th at the Disability Action and Advice Centre, which is expected to last for around two months.

Clients will continue to be seen in a temporary office with Ruils also confirming that all face-to-face visits will need to be scheduled in advance.

Confirming the news this morning, the organisation said: "From Monday June 12, the Disability Action and Advice Centre (Ruils Office) will be temporarily closed for building works until further notice. We anticipate that the works will take approximately 2 months.

"We will be working as normal and seeing clients throughout this period in a temporary office space. Face-to-face visits still need to be scheduled in advance and we will let you know where these will take place when you make your appointment."

Ruils, which just last month marked its 20th anniversary, is a user-led charity which supports disabled children and adults and people with long term health and mental health conditions to live independently, be part of their community and to live life to the full.

It provides information, advice, advocacy, befriending and activities to clients and their families.
