Hundreds of thousands of people will descend on central London tomorrow for a procession of the Queen's coffin and the official Lying-in-State.

People intending to attend are being warned to expect a crush on the trains and to prepare for long queues.

The procession will start at Buckingham Palace at 2:22pm.

It will proceed along The Mall, Horse Guards Road, across Horse Guards Parade and onto Whitehall to Parliament Square and into the Palace of Westminster.

Her Majesty will then Lie-in-State at the Palace of Westminster until Monday, September 19, ahead of the funeral.

There will be ceremonial viewing areas along the processional route, which are due to open at 11am tomorrow.

Capacity will be limited and people will be admitted in order of arrival time. People have been asked not to camp on the route ahead of the procession.

There will be an opportunity to watch the Lying-in-State procession on large screens at an event in Hyde Park.

Full details of how to access the procession are available here - https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/attending-ceremonial-events-for-the-lying-in-state-and-the-state-funeral-of-her-majesty-the-queen/procession-for-the-lying-in-state-of-her-majesty-the-queen

During the Lying-in-State period, Her Majesty The Queen's closed coffin will rest on a raised platform – a catafalque - inside Westminster Hall in the Houses of Parliament.

Members of the public will be permitted to file past the catafalque to pay their respects.

The official Lying-in-State opens to the public at 5pm on Wednesday. It will remain open 24 hours a day through until 6.30am on Monday.

The queue may close early to ensure as many visitors as possible can enter the Palace before the Lying-in-State period comes to an end.

The Government has warned that the queue is expected to be very long and that it may possibly be overnight. Officials said there will be 'very little opportunity to sit down as the queue will be continuously moving'.

Official guidance states: 'Large crowds are expected, and there are likely to be delays on public transport and road closures around the area. You should check ahead, plan accordingly and be prepared for long queues.'

Visitors will go through airport-style security and there are very tight restrictions on what people can take in to the building.
