Council launches new electrical recycling banks

Residents of Richmond Borough can recycle their electrical goods more easily than ever with the launch of 20 new community banks.

This means there are a total of 30 banks in the area, all coloured bright pink.

"Anything with a plug, battery or cable can be reused or recycled," says Richmond Council in their latest announcement.

You can also recycle electricals for free at 10 local libraries.

The banks are provided by nonprofit Material Focus as part of their Recycle Your Electricals campaign.

The size limit for items is 21cm by 19cm, roughly the size of a two-slice toaster.

Larger electricals must be collected by the council themselves, while fridge-freezers have their own specialist collection service.
