Chipotle coming to the borough!

The Mexican grill chain from the US, Chipotle, is coming to the borough.

The company, which is famous for its burritos and tacos, is moving into the former Caffe Nero coffee shop on London Road, Twickenham.

It is just a few doors away from the Burger King, which shut last year, and both the police station and rail station, which suggests it will be popular with rugby crowds.

Chipotle will also be offering doorstep deliveries via Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat, suggesting ranks of mopeds will soon be queuing outside.

The company, which has 13 outlets across London, is in the midst of a major expansion drive in the UK.

Ahead of its opening, the chain is recruiting for staff with pay rates running from £9.50 to £11.25 per hour.

Perks include free food while working and a 50% employee discount at other times, as well as free English language lessons.

The news, first posted on Facebook by David Mawson, has caused a lot of excitement, including among the many American residents of the borough – although some questioned whether it would match those in the USA.
