Cautious optimism that second COVID peak has passed from Kingston Hospital

Kingston Hospital bosses are "cautiously optimistic" that they have passed the peak of Covid-19 hospitalisations for the second wave

Richmond Park MP Sarah Olney has announced the news after speaking to health leaders last week.

The highest number of Covid-19 patients in the hospital on a single day during the first peak last April was 124.

On January the 8th there were 210 people in Kingston Hospital and on Thursday, the figure was 176.

The news comes as a mass vaccination centre opens near Teddington.

The Hawks Road NHS site near the Cambridge Estate in Kingston and is one of four news centres opening in London.
