Deer birthing season in Bushy Park has officially ended.

The Teddington park's season ran from early May to Saturday, 1 August.

In a post on Facebook, Bushy Park thanked locals for keeping their dogs on leads during the period.

It said: "The deer birthing season has now come to a close. We wanted to say a big thank you to park visitors for keeping your dog on a lead during this period when females and baby deer are particularly vulnerable to disturbance, and mothers are especially defensive.

"A reminder that we advise that dogs be kept on leads during the deer rutting season (September – November).

"Thank you for your continued help with helping us to protect this green space."
