Residents across parts south west London are being warned of no water or low water pressure following a burst pipe.

Thames Water said a broken pipe is affecting supplies across a number of postcode areas, including TW10 and TW16, as well as parts of Kingston, Merton, Sutton, Wandsworth and Croydon.

The affected postcodes are:

• CR4
• KT1
• KT10
• KT12
• KT2
• KT3
• KT5
• KT6
• KT7
• KT8
• SM4
• SW16
• SW17
• SW18
• SW19
• SW20
• TW10
• TW16

In an update issued at 11:25am on Monday, 28 September, Thames Water said its teams had located the broken pipe and were working to restore supplies.

The water network said it had started rerouting water around the affected area, meaning customers in Surbiton should now be seeing their water return.

However, water pressure may remain lower than normal until the broken pipe has been repaired.

Thames Water said further water is being diverted into the area to help restore supplies to more customers, but this needs to be carried out in a "controlled and safe way" to prevent further bursts.

The company said the location of the burst and the complexity of the repair mean it is likely to take some time to fix.

Thames Water is continuing to deliver bottled water to customers registered as water dependent on its free Priority Services Register.

The company apologised to customers affected by the disruption and said it was working to restore normal supplies as soon as possible.
