Legendary British blues guitarist and singer Dave Kelly to perform at the online charity music Rockin' the Lockin' marathon to raise funds for Teddington's closure threatened Landmark Arts Centre, it was announced today (fri).

The Blues Band's Dave Kelly will perform at an all-day concert to raise essential funds for the Centre, which is celebrating its 25th year.

One of Europe's leading blues artists, Dave Kelly is a true craftsman of slide guitar as well as an excellent vocalist.

He has played among some of the best over his long career, including Howlin' Wolf, Son House, John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy to name a few.

In 1979 he was one of the founding members of British outfit The Blues Band along with former Manfred Mann lead vocalist Paul Jones. Many albums and tours across Europe later and he's still with today.

Kelly will play a special solo set this May Bank Holiday Saturday for Rockin' the Lockin' presents: Landmark Live, an online concert celebrating 25 years of the community-forward Landmark Arts Centre which is raising money for its survival.

The charity has been a central figure for arts in the local area, but faces permanent closure due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Joining Kelly – who has played the venue many times – is a cast of 24 other brilliant local musicians live-streaming from their homes across the day, hosted by MC extraordinaire Gareth Wax aka. DJ Bongo.

Among other emerging blues artists, there's something for every musical palate including folk guitarists, soulful songwriters, feel-good powerpop singers and plenty of fun, funk, and rock & roll.

The event will be streamed via the Rockin' the Lockin Facebook page link here, where donations can also be made

The event will be the first of a series of fundraising activities being held by The Landmark to mark its 25th anniversary, including a virtual quiz night and The Landmark 25, a sponsored arts challenge to encourage people to take part in arts related activities to seek sponsorship or make donations.
