A bakery with three branches in Teddington has been forced to close.

Cavan Bakery, which has branches on the High Street, Broad Street and Stanley Road, has been forced to close its doors.

This is due to a COVID-19 outbreak.

The bakery tweeted: "We regret to inform our loyal customers that our shops will be closed 23 Dec-1 Jan due to an outbreak of Covid-19 in our main bakery.

"This is unprecedented in our 92 year history and we are truly sorry to let you down.

"Orders will be refunded in due course. Have a safe Christmas."

The bakery also has stores across Richmond Borough and into Surrey.

The new variant of coronavirus is thought to be behind a rapid spread in the disease with rates doubling in a matter of weeks.
