Former British number one tennis player, Annabel Croft, joins the Friends of Richmond Park (FoRP) as a patron.

Croft, known to millions for her tennis commentary for the BBC, Sky TV, Eurosport and Amazon Prime, joins FoRP patrons, Sir David Attenborough, Clare Balding and Baroness Susan Kramer.

The presenter lives near Richmond Park, calling the location her "happy place" and "sanctuary".

Croft said: "Richmond Park is very close to my heart, having spent so many happy times there. Its natural beauty and serenity have brought me and my family so much joy.

"I am delighted to be able to help Friends of Richmond Park continue their work to preserve and protect this precious jewel in the crown of our community."

Chairman of FoRP, Roger Hillyer, believes Croft's involvement with the charity will be "invaluable" to the community.

"We are thrilled that Annabel has agreed to become a patron of Friends of Richmond Park," commented Hillyer. "Her love of the Park and desire to ensure it continues to provide an unspoilt sanctuary for wildlife and visitors will be invaluable.

"All of us in the Friends look forward to working with her."

Founded in 1961, The Friends of Richmond Park is a charity dedicated to the conservation and protection of Richmond Park. To find out more click here.
