Ten locals ran the Turks Head 10k yesterday (Sunday, 7 June) in aid of Crossroads Care Richmond and Kingston upon Thames.

The team included the charity's 2027 London Marathon runner Spencer; Operations Manager Nicola; Caroline; Trustees Tara and Debbie as well as Debbie's family, including Grace who ran the 2025 London Marathon for Crossroads; Tilly; and Rupert who finished in 10th place.

Race director Caitlin Limmer is now the charity's ambassador, and this is the second time that the charity has had a stall at this much-loved community event.

Nicola, who ran over the finish line at the same time as Caroline and Tilly, said: "The carers that we support at Crossroads inspire me every day and that's why I decided to step right out of my comfort zone and do this run.

"It was really tough, but I'm so glad I did it. I loved being part of such a joyful event."

Trustee Tara joined the team just two days before the event with no training but managed to finish in an impressive 55 minutes.

She said: 'I really enjoyed taking part in the Turk's Head run and felt privileged to do it in support of Crossroads. While 5k is my usual distance, stepping up to the 10k was a real challenge — but with perfect weather on the day, I was delighted (and a bit surprised!) with my time.'
