By Tilly O'Brien 8th Feb 2026
Every year, couples across the globe celebrate their loved ones in their own special way, whether it be a big romantic gesture, a fancy meal, a cosy night in, or a fun activity.
But Valentine's Day isn't just for couples as some of us like to see it as a day for some much-needed self-love, or to share our love for our friends (AKA Galentine's)
With Valentine's Day just around the corner, you might be wondering where best to celebrate the international day of love whether it be with your special someone, your friends, or yourself.
So, here's a list of five Valentine's Day ideas in Teddington.
Dinner at The Anglers
Celebrate love this Valentine's Day with The Anglers' carefully crafted Valentine's menu.
This Valentine's Day (Saturday, 14 February), The Anglers is offering a three-course meal, including starters, mains, and puddings, as well as a complimentary cocktail or glass of bubbly upon arrival.
The menu features thoughtful touches throughout; think burrata with spiced pumpkin carpaccio and toasted seeds, BBQ aubergine with tahini and pomegranate, or cured salmon with smoked horseradish buttermilk to start.
Mains include short rib of beef with cep mushroom and crispy shallots, pan-roasted Cornish stone bass, plant-based tarts, and more. For something sweet, choices range from Valhrona mousse with caramelised white chocolate to choux aux craquelin with sour cherries, or a classic sloe gin crumble.
Speaking about the day, The Anglers said: "Valentine's isn't just for couples—it's a chance to share good food and raise a glass with those you care about most. Our team knows how to look after guests because we care about the details and always serve with a smile.
"Tables are already filling up, so we recommend booking early to secure your spot. To reserve your place, contact Anglers Teddington directly or visit our website for more information. Romantic walk through Teddington's sites

While Valentine's Day can be an excuse to push the boat out a little, it does not have to be expensive , or even cost any money, especially with the current financial climate.
So, if you are looking to save your pennies this year, why not just take a romantic stroll along the Thames, which we are so lucky to have on our doorstep, or Bushy Park and maybe even nip into Tesco beforehand and grab a cheap bottle of bubbly (I strongly recommend Tesco's own Prosecco for £8) and some snacks to create your own picnic dinner?
