Park Lane Stables hope to make Teddington proud at Who Cares Wins awards
Teddington charity Park Lane Stables hope to make our town proud tonight as they head off to the Sun's Who Cares Wins awards.
The RDA stables are a finalist in the Best Health Charity award for their incredible work supporting disabled people during the pandemic.
Founder Natalie O'Rourke and her daughter Alice will be representing the charity at the awards tonight (14 September).
They are joined by volunteer and rider Philippa George and Nina Bradburn, who nominated the charity for the award.
Park Lane Stables said they had been "well and truly pampered" by The Sun for the awards.
The 'Fab Four' all donned beautiful frocks for the event and had their hair and make-up done for the star-studded ceremony.
Founder Natalie O'Rourke was dressed by her favourite Teddington charity shop Mary's Living and Giving.
The quartet will be treated to dinner before the awards are given out at the ceremony in London.
A Facebook video before the event featured Natalie, who looked stunning in her long green dress.
Beaming at the camera, the founder of the iconic stables thanked her supporters.
She said: "We're here at the hotel and we've been made-over!
"We really hope that we make you all proud, thank you for believing in us.
"To be honest it really doesn't matter if we win or lose because we're shortlisted to three and the other two charities are absolutely amazing so whoever wins it really doesn't matter.
"We're just so proud to be here so thank you for your support and we'll do our best for you!"
The charity are up against two other finalists for the Best Health Charity award, part of the Who Cares Wins awards set up in 2017 by the Sun to honour the incredible work done by healthcare professionals, charities and campaigners in the UK.
The 2021 awards will be presented by Davina McCall and later broadcaston Channel 4 this Sunday 19 September.
