Local residents took to social media to share photos and videos of these cute little Thames superstars and to retell stories of their favourite seal encounters.
However, wildlife drama occurred yesterday morning as the Teddington Lifeboat crew were down by the river for shoreside training.
The crew discovered a sick young seal lying on their launch ramp!
After a call from a concerned resident, a man from the RSPCA hailed as 'excellent Dale' by Teddington Lifeboat Station on Twitter arrived to rescue the ailing seal.
The lifeboat crew tweeted to confirm that, with their help, the seal had been caged and taken to Kent for specialist treatment.
Nub News wishes this local celebrity a speedy recovery - hopefully it will be back catching fish with its family very soon!
