There were queues outside Bushy Park this morning as new opening times have been put in place.

The pedestrian gates are usually open 24 hours a day however this has now changed due to the deer cull.

The cull is held annually in September and November and means much more limited access for pedestrians and cars alike.

The first cull will take place from today for approximately six weeks before resuming on November 2nd for another six weeks.

Bridget Shahin, who provided us with the above picture, called the main gates a 'shambles' when she arrived at 7:30am.

So now vehicle gates will now open 8:00am Monday-Friday, with a slightly earlier opening time of 6:30am on the weekend.

The vehicle gates will then close at 19:00 on a weekday, with a later time of 19:30 on weekends.

Pedestrian gates will be open between 08:00 and 22:30 for every day apart from Friday and Saturday nights when they will not be closed at all.

The deer cull takes place every year in order to control the population.
