A small Italian embroidery shop opposite Ted Lasso's fictional front door near Teddington has created a booming business in the wake of the show's global success, Nub News has learned.

Owners Claudio and Cristina have created an exclusive range of items including socks (£15 a pair) embroidered with Ted's BELIEVE dressing room mantra, scarves (£25) and T-shirts (£25) with the distinctive club badge AFC Richmond and baseball caps and hats.

Their shop, Reale Camiceria, first opened in 1996 in Italy and just two years ago in Paved Court, a narrow side street in Richmond town centre.

The shop is almost right in front of the black front door of Ted's fictional home on the Apple + TV show where extended shooting of the first two series took place and is expected to begin again in January.

Ted Lasso, which has won seven Emmys, is the story of college football manager Ted, played by Jason Sudeikis, who moves to England to coach a Premiership football team, AFC Richmond, and creates an infectious spirit of generosity and goodwill around him, inspiring both tears and laughter.

The show has been filming on location in Richmond since 2019 and will start production on its third season next month (January 2022).

Claudio and Cristina told Nub News: "We are big fans of the show and with all the customers we talk about it and collect hundreds of enthusiastic statements about the actors and the show.

"We got to know some of the cast and crew because they filmed in front of our shop and we can tell they are fabulous people. It has become a cult and people say they have brought kindness and smiles back into everyone's hearts.

"They are a fantastic group of people. A better result from a show cannot be had, we believe."
