Barclays in Teddington is set to close - meaning the town will be left with just one bank.

The mini Halifax on Broad Street will now be the last bank left to serve over 10,000 people.

Barclays is scheduled to shut on Friday November 6th.

This would make it the fourth bank branch to shut in Teddington in recent years.

Besides the Halifax the nearest banks to Teddington will now be in either Kingston, Twickenham or Richmond.

Of course Covid-19 has accelerated the number of bank branches closing but in general as we move to more online branches are closing at a much faster rate.

Since January 2015 3,588 bank branches have closed across the UK.
