Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Secondary Schools, Kingston upon Thames

Contract Type: Full-Time (5 Days per Week) Location: Various Secondary Schools across Kingston upon Thames Start Date: ASAP or January 2026

We are currently recruiting enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to join a network of welcoming and supportive secondary schools across Kingston upon Thames. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is ready to take the next step in their educational career within schools that value professional development, inclusion, and teamwork.

About the Role

As an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teachers and students in the classroom, working both independently and collaboratively to deliver engaging lessons and targeted support. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering small group or one-to-one interventions to support student progress.

  • Covering classes during teacher absence, following lesson plans and maintaining a positive learning environment.

  • Supporting students with additional needs, ensuring every learner has the opportunity to succeed.

  • Assisting with planning, assessment, and curriculum delivery.

  • Contributing to the wider school community and enrichment activities.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Qualified to HLTA Level or has equivalent experience working at this level in a school setting.

  • Confident managing classes and supporting learners of varying abilities.

  • Committed to promoting inclusion, equality, and a positive learning culture.

  • A great communicator with excellent teamwork skills.

  • Motivated to progress and take advantage of professional development opportunities.
