A recipe idea posted to Teddington Nub News has won a £25 Co-op food voucher.

Nub News readers were asked to submit their recipe ideas for a special Valentine's meal, and a recipe posted on Teddington Nub News was chosen as a winner.

Sylvi Delaney's offering was heart-shaped cappuccino brownies, a firm favourite of the Teddington resident who looks forward to them each time February 14th comes around!

The recipe for those interested in having a go at the delicious dessert option is:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, plus more for pan
  • 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon instant espresso powder
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Nub News thought this recipe sounded delicious, so well done to Sylvi!

Commenting on why the cappuccino brownies are such a go to on Valentine's Day, Sylvi said: "The recipe consists of two of my absolute favourite flavours, coffee and chocolate! So when Valentine's Day comes around it seems like the perfect opportunity to blend them together for a delicious treat.

"My husband and I enjoyed a few more than we should have before and after seeing the Shakespeare and Love production at the Landmark, it was fantastic!"
