On July 8 from 10-12am, Teddington Co-op and Cruse Bereavement Support came together to raise money and awareness of grief support.

Co-op believes communities are at their strongest when supporting each other.

Set up in a marquee outside the Teddington store, Co-op colleagues and Cruse campaigners offered activities like snail crafting, make a glitter tattoo, hook a duck and a magic bag game.

The retailer's Local Community Fund (LCF) is awarded annually to organisations who are deemed to serve one or more of the Co-op's pillars; providing access to food, access to well-being and providing opportunities for the young.

Cruse Bereavement Support was among the organisations supported by the Co-op's Local Community Fund in 2023 and it has gone from strength-to-strength over the course of the year.

Cruse Bereavement Support helps people through one of the most painful times in life – with bereavement support, information and campaigning.

The "Cruse Clubs Counselling Service for Widows and their Families" was registered as a charity in October 1959. In 2021 it rebranded as Cruse Bereavement Support and continues to adapt to meet the needs of those who are grieving in a changing world.

Co-opCruse Bereavement Support and Cruse Bereavement Care Scotland have partnered together to create some useful online content to support those going through a bereavement.
