The entrance into Bushy Park from Hampton Court gate will be shut to traffic for two days next week.

The car park near the Diana Fountain will also be closed.

The closures are being enforced while roadworks take place on Tuesday and Wednesday (February 23-24).

Pedestrians will still be able to enter the park via the gate at Hampton Court, but Chesnut Avenue will be closed to motorists.

The park's custodians advise against visitors arriving by car. In the public notices section of their website, the Royal Parks charity says: "Please follow the latest government guidelines and stay local.

"Car parks have been extremely busy during lockdown so please don't travel to the park by car."

In other news from Bushy Park, the playground toilets which closed for refurbishment on Monday, February 15 are due to remain shut until Saturday, March 13. Portaloos are currently available to use instead.
