Some much welcomed news that Boris Johnson delivered yesterday was that retail was allowed to reopen.

The Christmas period is so important for this industry, especially for independent shops.

In Teddington we are blessed with a number of great independent stores.

So here are some of the best in TW11 and what they offer you.

The Loft

The Loft is a family run Homeware and Gift Shop founded by Husband and wife team Nigel and Cheranne in September 2003.

The shop been a permanent fixture on Broad Street in South West London, for the past 17 years; which is no mean feat in today's climate.

They are proud to be a part of the Teddington community and to be one of many local and independently run businesses that are thriving in the area.

Since they opened their doors The Loft has built up an extremely lovely and loyal customer base, who return time and time again to explore the beautiful and innovative product ranges that are always being refreshed and updated.

The inspiring and ever-changing product offering that the The Loft is known for, is due to the vision and experience of it's founders.

The pair have lived in the Teddington area for many years and so their knowledge of the area, understanding their customers needs and wants and their past retail resumes, are all big reasons why The Loft has stood the test of time.

The team that support the Robinson's are vibrant and dynamic and contribute to keeping the loft current and providing a shopping experience that will not disappoint!

The Refill Larder

Launched in September 2018, the owners were motivated to open the Refill Larder by the lack of plastic-free options available for day-to-day household items and food in the local supermarkets.

They believe there is an appetite for change and since opening they've met many people locally that are fed up with the limited options available to cut back on plastic reliance.

The Refill Larder does more than ban plastic straws and bags and show supermarkets that consumers are keen for more plastic-free options.

The owners want the Refill Larder to ignite conversations about alternative ways to shop and ways to cut back on plastic on a day-to-day basis.

You can find the Refill Larder on the High Street.
